I always loved amy schumers stand up comedy! but when I came across her book I was hesitating to buy it because I wasn't sure if and how that comedy would transfer into the written word. Having said that, I really enjoyed reading this book!! No, it isnt stand up comedy and not the funniest thing I ever read, but it is a really great book with lots of interesting, refreshingly honest, often funny, sometimes sad and very different stories about her life and her early years. She tackles I wide range of topics, doesnt shy away from the really personal stuff and things others would be embarrassed to admit. Because every chapter stands (mostly) on its own, I admit that I put the book down in between reading. Sometimes for a few days. But I always enjoyed coming back to it. I always had it in my handbag and enjoyed reading a few chapters when I was travelling/ on the road/ during a break at work...I found it to be a great read: it is a lighthearted, funny, very honest and inspiring book! I can only remmond it (I already lend it to a friend :-))
I actually do not like humoristic books, but this one blew me away! It is not only humoristic but it telss about the real world and how even people like Amy Schumer struggle with the things that we all do! I loved every second of it and it really gave me a confidence push and showed me how important it is to stay true to who you are and find a way to love yourself!
Tolles Buch für Amy Schumer Fans. Sie traut sich Dinge einfach so anzusprechen wie sie sind. Für Leute, die sie nicht kennen, würde ich empfehlen zuerst mal ein paar Sachen von ihr auf Youtube anzusehen.

Ich habe das Buch sehr gerne gelesen. Amy Schumers Humor gefällt mir, man darf sicher keine immer korrekte Ausdrucksweise erwarten und auch sollten einem zu viele Details aus dem Sexleben fremder Leute nicht unangenehm sein.
Amy Schumer und wie sie wurde was sie ist - Das Mädchen mit dem ArschgeweihWie sie sagt, keine Biografie sondern die wahre Geschichte ihres Lebens, in kurzen Essays. Persönliche Erlebnisse, lustige und traurige, ungeschönte Eindrücke und Vieles davon zum fremdschämen. Aber das darf man wohl sagen, weil sie, obwohl sie nicht verurteilt werden will, selbst verurteilt. Ist aber nur menschlich.Sie erzählt locker von fragwürdigen Affären, Exzessen und missbräuchlichen Beziehungen, dem Bankrott ihrer Eltern, der Beziehung und Scheidung ihrer Eltern, der Krankheit ihres Vaters und dem Amoklauf bei der Vorstellung ihres Films.Dabei ist nicht alles lustig. Dazu ist sie direkt, damit darf man kein Problem haben. Oft wirkt es aber auch respektlos, das mag ihre Art sein aber es ist auch manchmal unangebracht. Im echten Leben, würde ich gerne mit ihr was trinken gehen, weil es aufgeschrieben wahrscheinlich nochmal härter klingt.Wobei ich es stark finde, dass sie ihrer Familie offensichtlich Nahe steht und trotzdem die Fehler ihrer Eltern reflektiert und diskutiert. Und das sind offensichtlich Einige.Die absoluten Highlights sind ihre Tagebucheinträge von damals, die sind schon lustig, und ihre Kommentare jetzt dazu, sind noch besser. Davon würde ich ein ganzes Buch lesen.
Wenn ich in den Genuss kommen kann, mir von Amy Schumer persönlich ihr Werk vorlesen zu lassen, kann ich dem schlecht widerstehen. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Autoren, denen es leider nicht gelingt, ihr gut geschriebenes Werk auch gut zu präsentieren, kommt Amy Schumer hier ihre Bühnenerfahrung zugute. Ich wurde jedenfalls bestens unterhalten.Man mag es mögen oder nicht, mit sehr vielen Details aus Amy Schumers Liebesleben konfrontiert zu werden, es gehört auf jeden Fall Mut dazu sich so weit zu offenbaren.Mir ist Amy Schumer durch ihr Buch noch sympathischer geworden. Vielleicht muss man eine Frau sein, um sie voll und ganz würdigen zu können und um es zu schätzen zu wissen, dass sie feministisch relevante Themen anspricht. Ich wünsche mir jedenfalls, dass mir ihre erfrischende Persönlichkeit noch ganz oft auf DVD oder in Buchform begegnet.
